Wim Delvoye was born in 1965 in West Flanders Belgium. Delvoye is known for his very creative and 'shocking' projects. His works focuses on the human body and repeatedly shows the links between contradictions. For example, the comparison between the attractive and the repulsive. He shows us that beauty can indeed be something repulsive, and vice versa. Wim Delvoye is best known for his project called 'Cloaca' which was a 'digestive machine.' Cloaca is an installation that turns food into feces, and Wim Delvoye says it allowed him to explore the digestive process. The food goes into a long conical tube and travels through a number of assembly stations, and then ends as a hard substance when it's separated from water through a part of the machine/installation.
