« The demystification of art is very important to me. »
- Aaron Young
The Young and The Driftless, a ‘painting’ made on a panel of safety glass surrounding the gallery, is one of Young’s most revered works – it was created by a biker speeding around the room; the floor was coated in spray glue and the rubber shavings produced by the friction of the bike tyre were subsequently collected by this glue – the final image was a self-portrait of the artist.

What is appropriation?
The use of images or pre-existing objects with application of little or completely no transformation to them. It has played a very significant role in the history of visual, musical, performing and literary arts. In visual arts for instance, to appropriate means properly adopting, sampling, recycling or borrowing aspects(even entire form) of artificial visual culture.
