Notable for her introduction of ‘photorealism’ within the realms of art, Audrey Flack is a painter and sculptor whose earliest works dealt with authentic, Rembrandt-inspired self-portraits – she then went on to depict various scenes reflecting real historical events, traced from photographs and often enhanced with everyday objects such as candles and clocks.
