Born and raised in China, Feng Zhengjie was once an art teacher for high school and eventually college, but is now well-known for his artworks depicting, and often critiquing, modern-day consumerism, keeping Feng Zhengjie well within the realms of the philosophical, non-consumerist art movement.

His most notable works lie within the series of paintings entitled Portrait of China. Both inside and outside of his famous series, Feng Zhengje's style tends to revolve around oil portraits featuring bright, flashy colors, most apparent upon the lips of females within his works.
