Original Signed Artworks & Limited Edition Prints For Sale

Notable for his use of industrial materials and processes, Jacob Kassay is a multi-faceted artist with works encompassing the mediums of painting, sculpture and printmaking – many of his earlier paintings employ the technique of ‘electroplating’; this technique provides a silver, mirror-like finish to his works that subsequently interact with the environment through colour shifts and light reflection.

« In the first set of paintings I did, I plated the edges, too - but those appeared to be too sculptural on the wall. »
Jacob Kassay
Kassay has previously described his art as ‘the relationship between structured forms and the individuated body’ - Jerk, a series of sculptures created in 2017, is a piece that recreates the structure of goods inside a typical home cabinet – he used actual canned goods and foodstuff as materials for this work.

« There's no reason that we can't go back to the past and rehash ideas that maybe you thought weren’t complete »
Jacob Kassay

Kassay’s monochrome paintings have referenced such artists as Andy Warhol and Robert Ryman, with Kassay himself stating that “there’s no reason that we can’t go back to the past and rehash ideas that maybe you thought weren’t complete.”

What is Process Art?

What is Process Art?

It refers to creative sentiment as well as artistic movement where the final product of craft and art is not the artist's principal focus. The term "process" in this art refers to art formation, gathering, the sorting, associating, collating, initiation and patterning of proceedings and happenings. It is concerned with the actual deed and the defining of actions as actual artwork; seeing it as purely human expression. Process art mostly entails inherent motivation, intentionality and rationale. This art is therefore, viewed as a creative process or journey rather than being an end product or a deliverable.
