Jaume Plensa is an artist and sculptor of Spanish descent, who hails from Barcelona, Catalonia, where he was born in 1955. He remained in his hometown to study art at the Escola Superior de Belles Arts de Sant Jordi and "Llotja" Schools. He is an internationally known sculptor who has exhibited his work all over the world. Some of his recent and ongoing exhibits have been showcased in Germany, Italy, Sweden, France, and the United States. In addition to his current Human Landscape showcases on display in Nashville, TN and Toledo, OH until November 2016, Plensa's 32-ton sculpture, which is entitled "Laura," was also on display in Buffalo, NY in November 2012.
