Jitish Kallat is a contemporary Indian-born painter, sculptor and photographer. Kallat earned a Bachelor's Degree from Sir Jamsetjee Jeejebhoy School of Art. His works focus on themes, such as time, death, the cycles of life, celestial bodies and familial ancestry, in addition to the urban landscape of his hometown of Mumbai, India.

Collections of his work can be viewed in noteworthy museums and galleries, including the Art Institute of Chicago, the Brooklyn museum in Brooklyn, New York; and the Saatchi Gallery in London, England.
