Original Signed Artworks & Limited Edition Prints For Sale

Karin Sander is a conceptual artist hailing from Berlin, Germany. Her artistic style originates from figurative sculptures created by a 3-D photographic body scanning machine. She is more focused on visualization and computerized art work rather than traditional images that are created from sculpting or painting. Karen uses ink, plastic, acrylic, airbrush color, and plaster to create her unique pieces.

« I first conceptualize a work and I then seek an appropriate technology
in which to realise it. »

Karin Sander
Her sculptures look like miniature people because they are so realistic. Her style can be described as computer-based simulation and close to home human encounters. Karen Sander decided to conduct her independent study in the United States. She attended the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York Independent Studio Program. A popular piece of artwork is actually of herself. It is named Karin Sander 1:5 in Smock, 2009. This image mirrors herself and creates a lifelike model. She used plaster and ink to create the look. Patina 1, 2008 is a painting that uses a canvas with night rain. Karin Sander is a professor at an art institute and is able to share her revolutionary style with her students. (Artist website)

What is interactive art?

What is interactive art?

A form of art where the spectator is involved by the artist to achieve the art's purpose. This can be done by letting the visitor or observer "walk" around, in and on the art installation. Others may ask the spectator or the artist to become part and parcel of their artwork. Works in this category often feature computers, sensors and interfaces to respond to meteorological changes, heat, motion or other input types programmed by the maker to respond to by them.
