Fischl & Weiss

Original Signed Artworks & Limited Edition Prints For Sale

Peter Fischli and David Weiss (better known as Fischli/Weiss) are an artistic duo who are often considered one of the world's top contemporary artists. Working together since 1979, the duo created a lot of interesting pieces using photography and film such as Wurst serie (1979), a series of ten photos that signified the beginning of the duo's work together, and the film Der Lauf der Dinge (also known asThe Way Things Go, 1989).

« We were concerned with the simultaneity of the significant and so-called insignificant, minor as well as major events. »
Peter Fischli
The Way Things Gois one of their most interesting pieces because it is truly complex in the way that it shows the chain reactions of certain objects as they fly across the studio that it was shot in.Der Geringste Widerstand (The Point of Least Resistance) is another one of their interesting works. Although the film seems silly, it is full of all sorts of meaning.

« In a certain way, it leads to a dissolution of the self if all of these things simply whirl about unanswered—a feverish, disorientated state that’s upsetting because it’s unstoppable. »
David Weiss

If audiences took the time to watch this interesting film, they'd see that Fischli/Weiss were attempting to warn people about the dangers of taking the path of least resistance, w Read More

What is Process Art?

What is Process Art?

It refers to creative sentiment as well as artistic movement where the final product of craft and art is not the artist's principal focus. The term "process" in this art refers to art formation, gathering, the sorting, associating, collating, initiation and patterning of proceedings and happenings. It is concerned with the actual deed and the defining of actions as actual artwork; seeing it as purely human expression. Process art mostly entails inherent motivation, intentionality and rationale. This art is therefore, viewed as a creative process or journey rather than being an end product or a deliverable.
