An early adopter of computer and algorithmic art, Hungarian-born French artist Vera Molnar has over six decades of experience. A co-founder of GRAV group, she made mechanical and kinetic art with geometric shapes, and adhered to Art et Informatique. In defence of her using geometric shapes she refers her quest for delivering surprise with monotony and symmetry.

Vera Molnar
An advocate of unusual media, she often left the perforated edge of the computer printouts intact, calling the artworks "jobs." Her 1974 work Hypertransformation of 20 Concentric Squares, produced on plotter paper, exemplifies her unusual methods. Before computer art, Vera Molnar created nonrepresentational art, where art does not portray real world subjects.

From the experience and results of the many years of research in the area of art, artists have suggested that the process of geometric abstraction can be a solution to the modern problems where some artists have been rejecting illusionistic practices.
