Entropy

Entropy is the inevitable deterioration of a society or system. In art, it was popularized by artist Robert Smithson, whose use of it in New York in the 1960s was in reference to artwork he considered was static and simplified. He targeted contemporary minimalist artists.

Intaglio

Intaglio is a printing technique where a design is created by incising beneath the surface of stone or metal plates. Only the depressions are inked and the plate surface is wiped clean. An etching press transfers the ink to the paper.

Modern Realism

Modern realism describes artwork which depicts things as they exist in reality. Because the art style followed after abstract art was developed, the art is generally painted or drawn using modern approaches while continuing to paint realistic subjects from everyday life.
