Light and Space

Refers to loosely affiliated movements that relate to minimalism, geometric abstraction and op art that originated from Southern California back in the 1960s and was greatly influenced by John McLaughlin. Artists focused on sensory phenomena such as light and others as the center of their work. In addition, they incorporated latest technologies in aerospace and engineering industries so as to develop light filled and sensuous objects.

Lettrism

Lettrism is an art form which uses letters, words and symbols to create an artwork. The art form was popularized in the 1950s in America, but was established in 1940s Paris. Lettrisme is the French spelling of the movement, and the French word for letter.

Modern Realism

Modern realism describes artwork which depicts things as they exist in reality. Because the art style followed after abstract art was developed, the art is generally painted or drawn using modern approaches while continuing to paint realistic subjects from everyday life.
