Gutai

Gutai were the group of Japanese radical artists who formed the Gutai Art Association in 1954. The word gutai is translated to mean embodiment. They created art on the spot for audiences, including their own physical movements; throwing paint, piercing paper and rolling in mud.

New British Sculpture

Name that refers to the work produced by a group of sculptors, installation artists and artists who exhibited together in London in the 1980s.
