Automatism

Automatism refers to the process of accessing material from the unconscious or subconscious within the creative process. It is Sigmund Freud’s method used during psychoanalysis called free association. Artists valued the process for its ability to stimulate creative thought and activity.

Resin

Resin can be made from both natural and synthetic processes. The natural version is from pine sap, and the man-made kind is a dense and easily molded form of plastic. Many sculptures are made from resin, and resin can make paint colors vivid.

Montage

A film editing technique where a series of shots are taken through a process of editing into a sequence so as to condense time, information and space. However, various contexts have made use of this term.
