De Stijl

De Stijl, meaning “Style”, was a group of Dutch artists who created abstract art which adhered to vertical and horizontal geometry. The group was founded by Piet Mondrian and Theo van Doesburg. Mondrian left De Stijl when Van Doesburg began using diagonal geometry.

Mosaic

Mosaic is the process of creating images using many different pieces of colored tile or glass. It can take hundreds placed closely together to build an entire work. The pieces are organized like puzzles, with each piece being part of the whole picture.

The common forms of this art include pop-up art, sticker art, stencil graffiti and sculpture or street installation among other forms. Sometimes, "guerrilla art", "neo graffiti", "post graffiti" and "urban art" are used in this context to refer to the created artwork.
