Orphism

Orphism was an abstract style of painting influenced by cubism developed by Sonia and Robert Delaunay. French poet Guillaume Apollinaire created the term around 1912, which distinguishes the work of the Delaunay’s from cubism. Greek musician Orpheus inspired the term.

Art Informel

Art informel refers to gestural techniques and improvisatory methods common to abstract painting during the 1940s and 50s. It is a French term for the many styles that dominated these decades. Artists use this term because these styles were based on primarily informal techniques.

Photograph

Photograph is the term used for a picture taken with a camera using film and then printed using special chemicals and procedures which result in a photograph image on light sensitive paper. It is a mechanical process requiring real devices, chemicals and a photographer.
