What is a triptych?

Artwork that's divided into three sections or panels hinged together that can be displayed open or folded shut. It is therefore, a polyptych, a term that refers to multiple artworks. Triptych's middle panel is the largest flanked by two panels that are relatively smaller although at times, some have equal panels.

Assemblage

Assemblage is the French word for the artistic process of putting together three dimensional objects to create a work of art. Artists often use found objects, such as leaves or stones from nature, discarded items or recycled materials, to assemble in a creative, interesting way.

Conceptual art

Sometimes referred to as Conceptualism. It is an art where idea(s) or concept(s) included in the work come before material concerns and traditional aesthetic. Many of these conceptual artworks can be constructed by any person by simply following instructions written. The concept or idea is the most fundamental aspect of artwork.

Hard Edge art

Hard Edge art is a style of abstract painting which became popular in the 1960s. It included areas of color differentiated by the use of crisp, sharp edges which are precisely painted with geometric precision. Jules Langster described the art as hard-edge painting.
