What is an original artwork?

Original artwork is art which comes directly from the personal inspiration and creativity of an artist. It cannot be directly copied from another artist’s work, though it may be inspired by it. The subject matter can be the same, but it cannot be exactly copied. It may also refer to a unique piece (opposed to a multiple/edition)

Intaglio

Intaglio is a printing technique where a design is created by incising beneath the surface of stone or metal plates. Only the depressions are inked and the plate surface is wiped clean. An etching press transfers the ink to the paper.

Matter painting

Matter painting is a technique which blends thick impasto pains with cement, mud, sand or shells. The term first emerged in the 1950s, describing the works of Belgian and Dutch painters who focused on painting materials and the different ways paint could be used.

Graffiti Art

Drawings and writing painted, scratched or scribbled on a wall or any other surface mostly in a public place. Graffiti art is wide and ranges from small to elaborate writings or wall paintings. This art has been in existence since the ancient times with some of the commonly used examples dating back to Roman Empire, Ancient Greece and Ancient Egypt.
