What is animation?

Animation is the term used to describe the process of showing sequences of static images in quick succession to create the illusion that the images are moving. Illustrators painstakingly drew separate images, slightly changing the moving parts with each image creating a movement series.

Photogravure

Photogravure is a process for printing photographs onto paper by etching the photograph on a copper plate. The plate was inked and pressed to the paper. The process created fine art photographs which have a distinctive beautiful appearance. Photogravure was replaced by the daguerreotype process.

Lambda print

A Lambda print is made in a Lambda laser printer. Lambda is a brand of the Durst company, which developed innovative digital forms of printing. The Durst Lambda was one of the first printers to use digital laser technology to print archival quality prints. Also called a Lambda c-type print.

Laser print

A Laser print is made using red, blue and green laser to expose light onto photographic silver halide paper. The exposed paper is processed with photographic chemicals to produce an archival quality print. The digital technology produces sharp images and highly uniform color.
