What is art fabrication?

What is art fabrication?

A process that relates to production of technically difficult or large artworks. It happens when a designer or lone artist is unable to realize a creation of conception or design of his or her own and seeks assistance in a fabrication studio. Such a studio has access to specialized machinery, resources and the necessary labor required in order to excellently execute complex art projects.

Photograph

Photograph is the term used for a picture taken with a camera using film and then printed using special chemicals and procedures which result in a photograph image on light sensitive paper. It is a mechanical process requiring real devices, chemicals and a photographer.

Tempera

Tempera is a paint traditionally made with colored pigments and egg yolks. The paint dries quickly and lasts a very long time. Some examples still remain from 100 AD. Modern tempera paint uses glue size with the colored pigments instead of egg yolks.

Oil on board

Oil on board is the technique of using either wood boards which have been sanded and painted with primer, or high density cardboard covered with canvas. Either offers the advantage of using less space for storage than traditional stretched canvas on frames.
