What is Assemblage?
Assemblage is the French word for the artistic process of putting together three dimensional objects to create a work of art. Artists often use found objects, such as leaves or stones from nature, discarded items or recycled materials, to assemble in a creative, interesting way.Artwork by Anthony Caro

Gestural is a term which describes painting with freely sweeping brush strokes. The main goal of gestural art was to allow the artist to physically portray emotional impulses. Viewers were thought to understand inner artistic thoughts revealed through the varied, yet expressive paint marks.
In 1981 Patti Aster opened the first art gallery in East Village. She helped launch the careers of several various artists and musicians. It all started out as a small gallery, but began to gain popularity and pop up more frequently, and eventually making East Village the starting point for other art movements such as Neo-Expressionism and Street Art. The Gallery closed in 1985 due to loss of interest.
Entropy is the inevitable deterioration of a society or system. In art, it was popularized by artist Robert Smithson, whose use of it in New York in the 1960s was in reference to artwork he considered was static and simplified. He targeted contemporary minimalist artists.
