Watercolor

A term that refers to both the resulting artwork and the medium. It is a method of painting where the paints used are made of pigments that are suspended in water soluble "vehicle". Watercolors appear luminous and are transparent because the pigments used are laid down in pure form and few fillers obscure pigment colors. By adding Chinese white, watercolor can be made to look opaque.

Aquagravure

Aquagravure is a technique combining several processes; including compressing wet paper pulp in a carved wood mold until the water runs off, painting the compressed paper, adding ink to the mold to print onto the painted paper, and allowing the entire work to dry.

Textile

Textile is the term used to describe a flexible material formed by weaving, felting, crocheting, knitting or knotting long strands of natural or artificial yarn or thread. Textile artists often create their own textiles, or use selected ones in fabric art compositions.
