What is Eat Art?

EAT( Experiments in Art and Technology) was a movement formed to develop and build collaborations between engineers and artists. It worked by contacting artists and engineers on a person-to-person basis. It was originally launched by artists Robert Whitman and Robert Rauschenberg and engineers Fred Waldhauer and Billy Kluver in 1967. The movement carried out activities and projects that expanded artist's role in the contemporary society.

Photograph

Photograph is the term used for a picture taken with a camera using film and then printed using special chemicals and procedures which result in a photograph image on light sensitive paper. It is a mechanical process requiring real devices, chemicals and a photographer.

Sculpture / Object

A sculpture is a three-dimension object made using any one of the basic sculpting processes. These include carving, casting, constructing or modeling. Carving materials may be bone, ivory, stone or wood. Modeling and casting use clay or wax, while constructions glue materials together.

Metalcut

Metalcut was a technique for relief printing. It existed primarily from about 1450 to 1540 in Europe. The technique used thin metal plates. One method cut or hammered away parts which should not print. A second used engraving to show white lines on black background.
