What is Giclée printing?

Giclée printing is a computerized technique for reproducing artwork using a digital file and a special ink jet printer which uses acrylic, oil paints or ink. This reproduction process results in an extremely high level of color and image accuracy.

Feminist art

Refers to the art that branched from the feminist art-movement between the years 1960-1970. It grew with the intention of criticizing the 20th century gender ideals including the canon of art history by creation of dialogue between artwork and the viewer through feminist lens.

Neue Wilden

Neue Wilden is the term German artist used for neo-expressionism. In the 1970s and 80s, expressive painting emerged once more in the country, and artists embraced the intense colors and broad brushstrokes used. The movement grew in opposition to minimal and conceptual art.

New Leipzig School

A movement in modern German painting, it's the third generation and relates to how Germany today post-reunification looks like. The movement for the new Leipzig school is linked to people like Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst Leipzig. Unlike the first generation of Leipzig paintings, the third generation do not have clear characteristics and messages. Instead, the paintings are a combination of figurative and abstract elements, making creativity come to the forefront.
