Maquette

Maquette is the term used for a scale model of a sculpture which is not finished yet. It serves as a rough draft so that the artist can test ideas about the sculpture without spending the effort and cost to make the full-size sculpture.

Object

Object in art is simply a thing which exists. Sometimes, that thing is the most important to see in a painting or drawing, and then it becomes the focal point. An object can be anything that can be touched or seen, depicted in art.

Found objects

Found objects, objet trouvé in French, are items which an artist finds and incorporates within a work of art. Collectors have been displaying aesthetic objects in collections for centuries. But modern art uses objects with non-art functions, such as recycled or repurposed materials.
