What is Pixel Art?

Pixel art is a specific digital art created pixel by pixel. It is similar to making a mosaic, where small bits are individually placed, creating larger artworks. Nostalgia is credited for the pixel art trend which uses video game art techniques in new art.

Monochrome

Describes paintings, photographs, designs or drawings of one color or values that have one color. Monochromatic objects have shades with limited hues or colors. However, for an image, the term monochrome is often used to refer to black and white. or gray scale though it may be used to mean other combinations that contain tones of one color.

Found objects

Found objects, objet trouvé in French, are items which an artist finds and incorporates within a work of art. Collectors have been displaying aesthetic objects in collections for centuries. But modern art uses objects with non-art functions, such as recycled or repurposed materials.

Screen-print

Refers to a print produced through a printing technique in which a ink is transferred using a mesh to a substrate safe for those areas blocked with a stencil to make them impermeable to ink. Screen prints are usually made on posters, T-shirts, vinyl, stickers and wood or any material usable for this purpose. Screen printing is also a method of stencil printing and is sometimes known as serigraphy, serigraph printing, screen or silk screen.
