What is wax?

Wax is a solid material derived from plant, animal and petroleum sources. Wax can help paints to resist wear. It is used to make sculptures, wax crayons, colored pencils, and for encaustic painting; where colored beeswax shaped with special tools makes raised surfaces.

Digital Art

Digital art refers to art which is created using digital technology. It can be generated by computer, drawn or scanned with a tablet using a mouse. Video may be downloaded to computers so artists can manipulate images filmed with a video camera.

Modern Realism

Modern realism describes artwork which depicts things as they exist in reality. Because the art style followed after abstract art was developed, the art is generally painted or drawn using modern approaches while continuing to paint realistic subjects from everyday life.

Sound Art

Artistic discipline where sound is used as a medium. Like the other contemporary art genres, Sound Art is interdisciplinary in its nature. It can engage with a wide range of subjects that include electronics, acoustics, noise music, psychoacoustics, audio media, video or film and sculpture among other subjects. Early examples of sound art include Luigi Russolo's noise intoners and other experiments done by surrealists, Dadaists and happenings of Fluxus among others.
