Who are the American Abstract Artists (AAA) ?

American Abstract Artists (AAA) is the name of the organization founded in New York City to promote abstract art and its appreciation in the United States. Critics were strongly opposed to abstract art then. The AAA provided exhibit opportunities for abstract art and artists.

An Intaglio printmaking art technique. Marks capable of holding dye or ink are made on the plate by the artist then passed trough a press together with a paper, resulting in transfer of the held ink to the sheet of paper. Depending on the technique, the process can be repeated for a number of times. It uses application of mordant to a metal plate just like etching.

Cement

Cement is any variety of mixtures of clay, limestone, water, sand and gravel which forms concrete to be used as material for building things. To cement also means to join or unite. In art, cement can mean the process of gluing securely.

Plate

A plate is a broad, concave, but mainly flat vessel on which food can be served. A plate can also be used for ceremonial or decorative purposes. Most plates are circular, but they may be any shape, or made of any water-resistant material. Generally plates are raised round the edges, either by a curving up, or a wider lip or raised portion. Vessels with no lip, especially if they have a more rounded profile, are likely to be considered as bowls or dishes, as are very large vessels with a plate shape.
